::Nonprofessional and full of scam. the pushy management of this hotel keep insisting me to book my trip around Mekele with his friends tour agency even though I have told them many times that I have already booked my trip with another company Well latter I found out that it was a scam to get money out of me.

::Overall, decent quality considering that this is a hotel in a far off city, in Ethiopia, in Africa. Would go there again. We spent two nights at the end of December at Lalibela lodge, where our agency had booked us a room. We spent the first night in room 407, upon landing in Mekele, and the second night in room 507, after our trip through the Afar Region. The hotel is a 15-min ride away from the airport and they had free shuttle to the airport. Room: The rooms were very clean and spacious. I believe th X07-rooms are the most spacious one. We had a kettle for water, a small bottle of water on the house, towel, dental and shaving kit, and a blow dryer (which worked only in 507) The mattress are comfortable, the bed not so much. The bed moved the second one of us moved a toe. So on the second night we just put the mattress on the floor, and slepy like babies. Note: if you are sensitive to the noise, you'll be bothered by roadside traffic in the early morning and later on at night. The water is warmest in the morning. The shower did not drain so well in room 407, but it did in 507. Breakfast is very 'meh'. You can get one omelette (and only one) and there is fruit (watermelon, banana, oranges), some bread, rice porridge I am fussy about tea so i always carry my own tea bags, and we got avocados in little shops around the hotel for just 25Birr a kg. The staff is nice but clueless. So keep that in mind. We were not expecting outstanding concierge service or anything like that. Just a good clean place to refresh and crash, and the hotel was enough for that. Rates at that time (Dec 25th) were about 900Birr for a double room. Overall, decent quality considering that this is a hotel in a far off city, in Ethiopia, in Africa. Would go there again.
