  King’s hotel is a questionable option for anyone looking for a place to stay in the Sarbet area. The beds are pretty bad, the bathrooms are inconsistent in quality, mosquitoes, bed bugs, and fleas are not uncommon, and the smell...oh the smell. King’s is situated next to what could be described as the most offensively pungent river in Addis; it’s rooms possess a musty old ness to them. Add to that that the restaurant is just okay while not being very competitively priced—and a prevalence of prostitution—and you get a hotel that is definitely not the best you can do in the area. On top of the old hotel’s building you’ll find a lighted sign that says “Kings Hotel,” with 4 stars under the words. It’s fitting that one of the stars doesn’t function.
