::লুসির সাথে সাক্ষাৎ: ইথিওপিয়ার রাজধানী আদ্দিস আবাবার জাদুঘরের সবচেয়ে আলোচিত বিষয় হচ্ছে লুসি। মাত্র ১ মিটার উচ্চতার লুসিকে নিয়ে কেন এত আলোচনা/উচ্ছাস? ১৯৭৪ সালে ইথিওপিয়ার হাডার অঞ্চলে আবিস্কার করা হয় লুসির হাড়ের প্রায় ৪০ শতাংশ। আধুনিক মানুষের পূর্বসূরী লুসি হচ্ছে “অস্ট্রালোপিথেকাস আফারেনেসিস” গোত্রের সদস্য। বিজ্ঞানীদের ধারণা লুসির কংকালটি প্রায় ৩.২ মিলিয়ন বছরের পুরণো। মগজের ক্ষুদ্র আকৃতি সত্বেও পায়ে ভর দিয়ে দাঁড়ানো লুসি সারা পৃথিবীর মানুষের মধ্যে অনেক আগ্রহের জন্ম দেয়। দীর্ঘদিন প্রদর্শনী শেষে আমেরিকা থেকে ২০১৬ সালে লুসিকে আবার আদ্দিস আবাবার জাদুঘরে আনা হয়। ধারণা করা হয় মাত্র ১২ বছর বয়সেই লুসির মৃত্যু হয়েছিল, সেটা হয়ত কোন উচু গাছ থেকে পড়ে যাবার কারণে হয়েছিল। যেদিন লুসিকে আবিস্কার করা হয় সে রাতটা উদযাপন করার সময় বিটলসের “লুসি ইন দি স্কাই উইথ ডায়ামন্ড” গানটা বাজছিল বলে সেখান থেকে এই কংকালের নামকরণ করা হয় লুসি। মিউজিয়ামের বাইরের জনপ্রিয় রেস্তোরার নামও তাই লুসি। আজকে ট্রেনিংয়ে ফিরে আসার পর ইথিওপিয়ান বন্ধুরা প্রথমেই যেটা জিজ্ঞাসা করলো সেটা হচ্ছে লুসিকে দেখেছি কিনা?

::Mostly based on photographs and some old dressing items, this museum explains the history of Addis Ababa. The panels are self explanatory and guide you from the first establishments to the present times. Very useful for those who love history as well as gor those who wants to know and understand the city better. For the rest of the people (not history lovers or even kids) a bunch of old clothing, some arms and lots of black and white photos might be a little boring. I saw the faces of a family with kids while in there and they were all rushing to the door. Entrance prices (as of Sept. 2017) are 10 birr for locals and 50 birr for foreigners.
